Energy-Efficient Kiln Scheme
Energy-Efficient Kiln Scheme
To reduce pollution caused by traditional kilns and health risks to artisans, and to improve productivity, the institute has developed an energy-efficient kiln. These kilns reduce breakage, improve product quality, and lower fuel costs. Using energy-efficient kilns provides an estimated annual benefit of ₹70,000 per family.
Under the scheme, energy-efficient kilns are provided with 100% government subsidy to potter groups. Previously, one kiln was provided among 4 potter families; since 2020-21, in villages with fewer than 4 potter families, one kiln is now provided among 2 potter families.
